I was weaning mixed-fed ds from 4 1/2 months. He was showing signs of wanting our food, including swiping at dh's beans.
He tried sweet potato, apple, banana and pear, then I realised he was waking up really uncomfortable in the middle of the night.
I was unsure if it was eczema itching or hungry. So after feeding and creaming him and him still being unsettled, thought it might be tummy ache.
So I cut out the purees and the last 2 nights he only woke at 5, with an itchy head.
Did I start too soon do you think? I dont want to start again, though he still acts like he wasnt proper food, as I am scared of the all night crying again...

well, whatever it was, if stopping purees has helped I'd roll with it

nutritionally they're fine on nowt but milk for 6m, but if he's really going for food you could always offer him finger food (steamed carrot sticks, lumps of pear etc) he'll get the fun of eating with the family but not so much will go in, so is less likely to cause sore tummy during the night.
