BLWers - Your cereal suggestions please

My girls are 14 months and refusing all spooned food (cue tears and general hysteria). I've discovered they enjoy dry cereal for breakfast (with a cup of milk alongside - that's toddler logic for you!).

Can anyone recommend cereals that work as finger foods? They love rice crispies and I fed them some of my (highly unsuitable) cheerios this morning which were gobbled up.

ds2 is a bit older at 23 months but eats oatibix minis quite well (probably also highly unsuitable though!).

Mine liked all bran of all things!

Rubyslippers · 17/06/2007 09:21

i gave DS all bran (the baked oaty things)
then read ingredients and they are very sugary

mamapoopants · 17/06/2007 09:22

All bran original stick things - don't think it was baked oats!
Sorry if suggesting a dreadful one though

Rubyslippers · 17/06/2007 09:24

no original all bran is fine!
DS also chews on shreddies which seem really dry but he seems to eat them ok
we give him weetabix but have given up and spoon feed him that after yesterday when he was so covered in it that i had to cut him out of his babygro

mamapoopants · 17/06/2007 09:26

Cut him out of his babygro -
lovely picture!!

Wallace · 17/06/2007 09:38

all bran (you know the ones which loo like twigs?)

fibernie · 17/06/2007 09:38

apricot, raisin and cranberry wheats from Sainsburys are popular in my house.

Wallace · 17/06/2007 09:42

crossed posts!

mamapoopants · 17/06/2007 09:47

tee hee Wallace - all bran does indeed "loo like twigs"
!!!!

glamourbadger · 17/06/2007 10:03

Or loo like poos!

It amazes me how they prefer to eat dry cereal. Will give bran a go. The cereals all seem so sugary, even the ones that claim to be heathly.

Ruby - I am convinced Weetabix could be used as a building material!
