Onions?

I have a 5 mo DD who I am BFing, I have had to cut out onions from my diet because it gives her terribly bad wind (both painful and smelly).

In prep of weaning her I am in a quandary of whether to leave onions out of her diet for the foreseeable?

What would you do?

Thanks

Is it definitely the onions? My DN is the same with Garlic.

Yep, I’ve continued to eat garlic and she’s fine. We bought a pre-prepared lasagne at the weekend not thinking and the effect it had was unmistakable...

Sorryvwasnt trying to suggest it was Garlic, I was just, rather clumsily, trying to say how they can be allergic to foods in that group.

There is plenty you can give her without onions at first so try not to worry. I have suspect my DD isn’t good with onions. She’s always hated them and I’ve eventually learnt to to add them to everything. It took me a while though Smile

I'd leave onions off the menu to start with then when LO is in the swing of it then try a little and see what happens.

That’s my instinct, think i’ll Have to tell the nursery too, otherwise lots of painful squealing will ensue...

Thanks both...

@JiltedJohnsJulie thank you - that does make sense, I want to test leeks as well to be honest, might do that this weekend and see how she is (via breast milk that is....)
