What age did your LO stop using a bottle?

HV says after 1 year but both Mum and MIL are horrified and said I need to keep the bottle....

Advice please!

Dd-15 months
Ds-11 months

They still had milk but out of a lidded cup instead

The current advice is to drop the bottle at 12 months. Your HV is right on this one. There’s been a lot of research done since your DM and DMIL had their babies Smile

Thanks both.

LO is having none of it either! Confused

Have you tried cutting down to just the bedtime bottle for now?

dementedpixie · 22/10/2018 08:06

I did it gradually and did it by sitting them in the high chair with a snack and lidded beaker of milk. I didn't do them all at once either

We cut off the bottle and offered a small beaker but we've somehow transferred to the beaker during the night instead of the bottle

LO will cry out for milk maybe twice a night and is quite insistent - not sure how to break the cycle

12 months. Changed to cows milk in a cup, cold turkey. Took 3 days of mild whinging then was fine! Didn’t feed in the night past 10 weeks though. If you keep offering milk when they wake they will keep waking for it!
