Has anyone got any ideas for light lunches for a 9 1/2mth old? Any sandwich filling ideas?? I'm don't really eat lunch tbh so it's not as if I can just give her what I'm having. Also, does anyone know of any simple recipes I can cook for an evening meal that I could also give to her? I'm a bit of a crap cook with no imagination I'm afraid!

There is a receipe book by Lorraine Kelly and Anita Bean for babies and toddlers which I use and it's great. There's loads of receipes for babies up to toddlers and they're straightforward. Unlike some books I've found this one requires only simple ingrediants and not a lot of faffing around.

I give my daughter cream cheese, hoummous (can make homemade if worried about salt or sesame), thinly sliced ham, tuna, salmon, sardines, grated hard cheese, chopped chicken and paté in her sandwiches. She's nearly 11 months but has been eating all these things for a while now. Also, try a flat omelette/frittata with veg and potato in it, or eggy bread cut into cubes. Other popular things here are fried polenta (make it according to the instructions on the packet, chuck some finely chopped veg and/or meat and a bit of tomato purée in then slice and fry - you can make a lot at once and freeze slices to fry later so not as much hard work as it sounds), pitta bread, oatcakes with butter and some kind of sandwich filling on top, noodles with stir-fried grated veg (again, make a lot and freeze some to defrost and nuke later), pasta with pesto or butter and lemon juice or melted cream cheese. Hope this helps.
