6 months old but gags and throws up every time

My DS2 is very almost 6 months old.

Every puree or taste of food we have tried in the last 2 weeks, he gags then throws up immediately then starts to cry (unsurprisingly). He only gets a taste on his tongue to make him gag and sick, he doesn't even get it to the back of his mouth.

We haven't tried BLW yet as he doesn't seem interested in foods, doesn't look at food, doesn't pick objects up properly yet.

We weaned DS1 on puree and he absolutely loved it. He was on 3 puree meals per day by 7 months.

Do you think DS2 could be more suited to BLW and delay weaning a few more weeks until he is more able to pick up and grab foods?

He is just the total opposite to DS1 so it has confused me- should I be worried? Or is this normal?

Yes I think I’d give some finger foods a try, even if you don’t go down the BLW route and yes, I’d give it a couple of weeks without any solids, then try him again Smile

Not everyone likes purée .

Just wait a couple of months and give him some suitable finger food and let him try if he’s interested.

There are no prizes for the mum who gives their child the most solid food at the earliest possible date.

Not everyone likes purée. This is so true. My DC2 point blank refused any purees. She wanted what we were having and she made it very plain.

@jiltedJohmsJulie and @kr1stina that's great to know. I didn't really think about it like that.

He doesn't seem interested in what we are eating yet so I'll try again next week.
