dd2 is 6 months old on Monday but I can't wait till then. She has suddenly become hungry and I can no longer satisfy her with breastmilk.
I gave her a cooked carrot baton on Wednesday and she waved it around a bit but it didn't go in her mouth.

I really, really want to help her to eat and I really, really want to do BLW. Please help!

aitch - I've been having a look at your blog this afternoon. I like the 'till one it's just for fun' mantra.

Is there a good place for starting to read your blog? Am probably being thick but can't find the start.

ah well, that's because it's got a bit bigger than i ever intended. tbh i'd read the main page then the FAQs. make sure you read the comments on the FAQs, because they're like little polls of people's experiences really, so you can see what's happened to everyone else. then go to Finger Food months one if you like and see what dd was having (ish) and then recipes for ideas or to help you click about the things you already eat which would be easy for a baby.
the until they're one it's just for fun thing was actually mentioned at a trad weaning talk that i went to, it's really just an interpretation of the WHO recommendations so not specific to BLW. but it's good, isn't it?
Reiz, it's not a new or jazzy thing really, all it does is take account of what babies are capable of developmentally at 6 months, that they weren't at 4 under the old weaning guidelines.

re the "not eating finger food". I started giving DD finger food a week before she was 6 months and although she played with it and gummed some of it she didn't actually start eating any (as evidenced by nappies) for a good couple of weeks.

Almost a month and a half later and she still doesn't eat anything some mealtimes but sometimes packs away vast quantities especially broccoli and plum. It doesn't make any difference to her sleeping whether its an eating day or a not eating day though (alas!!).
