HOW MUCH MILK FOR 9 MONTH OLD?

DD dislikes milk...always has done but will take water no problem. I Try giving plenty of yoghurt and cheese to compensate but how much milk should a LO have at this stage in 24hours. My LO is doing well if we get 18 ounces into her in 24 hours. IS this ok? Anyone else have this problem?

18-20 oz is the recommended minimum up to 1 year. This can be made up of milk in cereal, in foods, dairy products, etc so doesnt all have to be as a drink

thanks seona1973 can I ask a quick question?...If DD will have cheese or yoghurts how much of these does she need to be eating to be getting "enough" ie her 18-20 onces? DOes a certain amount of cheese equate to a certain equivalent of milk? I'm only concerned as today she's only had 8 ounces all day although she's had a yogurt based breakfast and a petit filous at lunch. DD has of course had sips of water to keep her hydrated but has been pushing away her milk all day!

I dont know about cheese but I just used to count yoghurt by the amount dd took e.g. a 50/60ml yoghurt is roughly 2oz so I would count that as 2oz towards the daily total.

Maybe this will put your mind at ease a bit - according to my mum I stopped drinking milk at 4 months (still don't drink it, hate the stuff). After going out of her mind trying to sneak milk into me via mashed banana and cereal she was told to just give any dairy products that I would eat and stop worrying about the amounts.

I ate 1 pot of yoghurt every day as well as some mushed up cheesy veg (green leafy veg is full of calcium and iron) and chicken/fish mushed up with condensed milk. She also gave me jelly as that is full of calcium (not sure if that's ideal though!)

So it is possible. My bones/teeth/nails turned out OK btw
