Hello! I’m in need of support/help/ advice.this is my 2nd child who is 10 months old EBF and has CMPA.
I have been dairy free now for 6 months. I started weaning at 6 months old first with purée but he is just not interested, i’ve tried BLW and now trying a combination of both. I can barely get a meal down him a day. I have spoken with health visitor who gave some advice but still no further on. He can physically eat as will eat carrot sticks crisps but anything I give him he turns away from or spits out.
Some days I try not to stress but others like today I feel so helpless .
Sorry for long post 😬

When you say that you can barely get a meal into him in a day, what sort of quantity is he eating @RachelM84?

Is he following his centiles and meeting his milestones?

RachelM84 · 16/08/2018 11:43

Yeah his meeting his milestones. He was on the 90th venture when born but now on the 50th centile. He has had reflux so is on ranitidine. He’s also had severe eczema which is now under better control.
I put a table spoon of purée on each pot, yesterday was a better day as managed to get some lunch into him.

Poor love. Has he seen an allergy specialist and a Paediatric Dietician? I have every sympathy with him though, I’m CMPA and if I’m having a reaction it’s horrible. Has anyone discussed the possibility of Soya allergy too?

RachelM84 · 16/08/2018 16:38

Yes he’s under paediatrician, seen the dietician, and dermatologist.
Yes i’ve Been dairy and soya free.
I think he just loves my milk.

Glad you’re getting some help. My DD was a milk monster and didn’t really get Weaning for a good while. Are the Paed or Paediatric Dieticians concerned about the drop in centiles at all?
