I started weaning my son about 4 weeks ago. He’s not interested in purée but likes food he can hold and bite (he’s teething). Not much goes down but probably a bit more this week than last.

Apart from food, he’s entirely breastfed. He used to poo most days but he hasn’t been for 9 days. He still has wet nappies and doesn’t seem bothered. His tummy is soft. Should I be worried?

I’d probably get him checked by the GP. 9 days is along time without a bowel movement.

Yes I would probs get him checked you no what’s normal for him. I would be concerned it that was my dd2 or ds9 months as they do on average 5 a day each 😭😭😭

Any news yet @SpeckyB?

It got to 12 days without anything so the GP prescribed lactulose. It got things moving but nothing again today so I hope we’re not back to square one again...

Ok, things to try are giving solids about an hour after Bfing and offer solids just one a day or every other day.

Try avoiding foods like egg, banana and sweet potato for a few days too Smile
