GECKO IS NOT GOING TO BE WEANED UNTIL SHE IS 6 MONTHS

I wish I could just shout that to everyone, make them stop looking at me like I'm crazy and just relax about it

dh, mil and closest friends are totally agreeing and close friend is also going to wean her little girl {7 weeks yougner than Gecko) at 6 months but some not so close friends and even some complete strangers are going 'weird' or 'you poor baby, you must be hungry' when they finde oput she is just over 4 months

Ds2 only started getting the hang of solids at 7m, and I wish I'd held out and insisted on not weaning until he was ready, no matter what others said and no matter that he was older than 6m and still not weaned.

Babies should be weaned when they're ready, not when 'the book' says, or other peoples' opinions dictate. Dd was weaned at 5.5m, because she had been trying to grab our food for several weeks and was obviously ready. Yet we had comments for weaning her before 6m!

Oh I just lied, or glossed over what I was doing if people asked. Funnily enough I also found out later that other people were quietly waiting till 6 months too.

Our Lo is 19 weeks tomorrow and in common with every other baby we've cared for since they changed the guidelines, we will begin weaning at 6 months at the earliest.

I hate weaning so it's no big deal to wait.
