dh thinks not - i think i can. isn't all the booze evaporated and made harmless (but still much tastier than without)?....

Um, well I would!

Perhaps I should ask how old dd, how much wine etc... but I'd probably just do it!

Flame · 31/05/2007 12:34

Yup, you can.

Or I do anyway

TinyGang · 31/05/2007 12:34

Yes I think the alcohol evaporates or something.

melpomene · 31/05/2007 12:34

Yes, the alcohol evaporates so it is safe. I think I did this from about 1 year old.

Walnutshell · 31/05/2007 12:35

And yup - most alcohol evaps during cooking.

Tigana · 31/05/2007 12:35

I would.
Perhaps a smaller slosh than normal, just in case?
DS is almost 2 and LOVES the white wine, cream a garlic sauce we have with mussels. Have not notice slurring of words or wobblier than normal walking afterwards!!

Walnutshell · 31/05/2007 12:36

Oops, sorry - repeating comments! But obvious consensus is plonk in the plonk. Happy eating.

Walnutshell · 31/05/2007 12:36

Lol, Tigana. But do you get a better night's sleep, because if so, bring on the white wine sauce!

benandalex · 31/05/2007 12:37

i give my 2 a port or red wine casserole i do but i cook it very slowly over 3-4 hours and all the alchol has def evaporated

alarkaspree · 31/05/2007 12:37

I would too. You are right that the alcohol will evaporate, it will be harmless and introduce her to a wider range of flavours. And you will enjoy it more.

dcb · 31/05/2007 12:39

thanks! v.quick. am going to be domesc godess and cook dinner while dd is asleep (erm well that's the idea anyway). that way i can eat and be in bed for 9 without feeling sick - in preparation for our 5am wakeup/

(he is a right buggar, won't eat the mussels just the sauce. But does use an empty mussel shell to scoop up the sauce in true native fashion!)

Flame · 31/05/2007 12:49

Can I come to your house for mussels??

Walnutshell · 31/05/2007 21:58

Cute! Although mussels - yuk, but ds is quite welcome to em.

PinkTulips · 31/05/2007 22:00

i do it and ds is just fine

booze evaporates and just leaves the yummy taste.
