Baby not sleeping since starting on solids

Started my 24 week old baby on solid food (veg and fruit purees) a week ago and she's gone from going to sleep very easily at night and mostly sleeping through to waking several times in the evening crying. Her daytime naps are also much shorter. I'm not sure what's causing her to wake but I'm worried it might be tummy ache resulting from the food. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do? I'm tempted to stop weaning for the time being but she's fascinated with food and loves eating the purees. I have to limit her to 2 or 3 tsp as she'd keep eating for quite a bit longer.

this happened to me, elsy, so i "diluted" the solids with baby rice and milk for a few weeks and it worked well. she could be poorly in some way though if it has just been a week or so - maybe a bug coming on?

yes, dd did this.

I only fed her at lunch time for the first few weeks and then moved things I knew she was ok with to tea time. that helped.

But it could just be a knock on effect of the shorter day time naps. you could try getting her to sleep in a pram with a baby monitor so you can get rocking her back to sleep the minute she wakes. I used to do that with ds1. those were the days....

...also cut out fruit for the time being. dd reacted worst to fruit but was ok with rice and veg.

I had just got my twins sleeping through when I weaned them and they did exactly the same thing. They also started waking during their lunchtime sleep. I was devastated as I thought all my hard work had been undone! My husband was convinced all that carrot was helping them to see in the dark .

It lasted 2-3 weeks then they went back to sleeping through. I guess it was just their little bodies getting used to solid food. Hang in there!
