Cows milk

Hello!
Just wondering if anyone has any advice on this! Baby is 8 months old still breastfed as well as eating 3 meals a day. Dad gives her a formula bottle every evening (my supply is a bit low to express enough for every evening) I was wondering if we could use whole cows milk rather than formula for the evening feed? She already has been introduced to dairy, has milk on cereal in the morning, has cheese and yoghurt etc without any problem.. so just thinking can she not have 7oz as a bedtime drink?

Thanks for reading!

No, she needs formula as a feed until 12 months, then you can switch to cow's milk.

I agree, cows milk shouldn’t be a main drink until 12 months. I think it’s something to do with the amount of sodium and the lack of nutrients, although I coukd be wrong Smile

If you call one of the Bfing Helplines they’ll be able to help you find a solution that works for you Smile

Breastmilk or formula until 12 months.

Thanks everyone... I just thought as it would only be one bottle a night it would be ok as she's still feeding from me throughout the day so gets all she needs from breast milk plus the meals she is eating in the day. I can carry on using formula at night (it's the ingredient in it that I don't like... palm oil!)

7oz of formula will probably be a quarter to a third of her entire milk intake, so quite significant still.
