DS - 8.5months - has really started taking interest in finger foods and what DH and I are eating.

Is there anything that we really shouldn't let him have? I know honey is off limits, but i'm not sure about anything else.

Chokey things like nuts, whole grapes and cherry tomatoes, and anything too salty.

Some people avoid potential allergens like strawberries, kiwi and egg, and personally I'd skip shellfish as I've had too many bad experiences myself.

Other than that, go for it!

Depends on your family history with food & other allergies. IMO Defo avoid all things with added sugar & keep salt to an absolute minimum (less than 1g per day).....& then everything else "allergicky" like dairy, gluten, nuts, shellfish are a personal choice. We have asthma, eczema & hayfever in both of our families & DS himself as mild eczema so we avoided all allergens until past 1 year & some until he was over 2yrs.

do you have asthma or eczema in the family?

if so you'd be best off keeping loads of things out.

i would imagine from my vague memories of feeding dd goop that he'll have come into contact with most allergans via purrees by now if you haven't been careful about it
