7 months weaning advice

Hi all.
My LO is now 7 months old. We started with puréed fruit and veg and fruit and veg finger foods. And now on much thicker purée then when we started.LO really wasn’t keen on porridge she loves baby banana yogurts :)
I’m now going to try wheatabix and scrambled eggs, toast etc. I know we are probably going slower than what we should.

I’ve read many different things about weaning and have got a bit lost with it all.

What types of foods are you offering to your LO for meals times through the day?

Xx

So my Lo is just 7 months and yesterday she had
Breakfast - wheetabix with some fruit purée and toast fingers
Lunch - beef meal (beef, sweet pot, mushroom - Annabel Karmal recipe) with carrot fingers and then small yoghurt
Dinner - broccoli/cauliflower/carrot mash, cut up strawberry, fruit purée

I had been advised that at 7 months their iron reservations were depleted and so they should start on meat. Obviously portion size reflects baby size and these aren’t full sized meals!

I also BF in demand

The Caroline Walker Trust have published a guide to 1st year nutrition OP. If you go to about page 60 (ish) it starts talking about foods from 7 months and even gives approximate portion size and sample menus.

My 8 month old doesnt eat much atm. Porridge with breastmilk for breakfast, banana or fruit puree for lunch and either home cooked meal ( mixed veg, sweet potato etc) or ellas kitchen ( around half a packet). She has had a 10ml bottle of breastmilk mixed with multivitamins and an iron supplement since birth. Maybe speak to your gp for an iron supplement if worried?

my DD is 7 months, normally she has
Breakfast: bottle of milk and porridge or small peaces of bread dipped in peanut butter
Snack: mashed fruit or ellas kitchen fruit pouch
Lunch: bottle of milk and some bread or pitta bread with eggs or mashed avocado or hummus
Another snack of crackers, corn puffs, sticks of cucumbers and small bottle of milk
Dinner: some mashed potatoes/sweet potatoes/pasta/rice with some sort of weg (most often carrot, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans).
Have recently tried salmon which she loved.
Big bottle of milk before bed.
Will start introducing meat, chicken and other type of fish in the coming weeks.
Have also started introducing water in a sippy cup and will be replacing lunch time milk with water as she starts eating more.
