DS is 7 months and although i do have a 2.7 yr old as well i have forgotton what my LO is supposed to be eating!

He eats purees mostly and porridge ect but thats it my mind has gone blank when it comes to adding finger foods and lumps ect.

The problem is he really doesn't seem keen on savoury food but i guess thats just a case of persisting! Also what about cups and things my d.s wouldn't drink from any cup to well over a yr old i don't really wan't DS2 being that late, and also (yes i know so many questions!) does he need anything else to drink other than BM? and if so in what? He has about 2 bottles of Formula a day and the rest is Breast milk and his 3 solid meals.

Give us a hand someone!

ds2 is 8 months and he eats bread and baby biscuits and I also give him grated cheese etc. he'll also eat small pasta.

have you tried a sippy cup? I like the avent ones - ds just has one of those, no bottle. water a good idea with meals sometimes.

assuming no allergies he can have what your 2.7yr old is having. may need some tweaking to make it pick upable IYSWIM but otherwise just hand the food over really.

Thanks, i will try him with bread and things as he will suck on a baby biscuit if i hold it for him!

DS crafty git he is fed him a peanut earlier, dp nearly had a hernia, luckily DS2 just swallowed it down and carried on playing!

I can't give him what my DS1 has, as DS1 is on an extremly high fat diest as he has cf but again i suppose i could tweak things and make DS2 healthier versions?

My DD is also 7 months and I generally give her what we are having. Tonight was gnocci and bolognaise just cut up small. She also loves cheese sandwiches, roast chicken, risotto, fish pie etc. If we are having something unsuitable then I give her puree with some tiny pasta pieces in it.
Bananas are messy but she loves them, ditto avacado slices.
Every day I add to the list of things that she eats that I wouldn't have dreamt of giving DS at the same age!! (garlic bread, pizza, even let her munch on fries at cafe rouge the other day) Today was some Skips at a children's party! I wouldn't normally let three year old eat those!!

fat is good for babies. they need fat. not sure about extremely high amounts, i don;t know what's what with your 2 yr old but generally babies do need lots of fat.. ie full fat milk, full fat cheese, butter on everything etc etc. adults need high fibre low fat, babies need the opposite. what's your diet like? can your baby have what you're having?

When dd was that age, I gave her veg cooked in tom sauce with coucous, sloppy risotto, pitta bread, cucumber sticks. Used to make sauces and serve them with soup pasta, too. Fingers of eggy bread (put cinnamon in the egg, makes it taste sweet without the need for sugar), chopped melon and broccoli with egg noodles, she used to play with that one for ages.
Obviously not all at the same time tho'

We don't eat until late but i could save him things like shepards pies, caseroles and the handy thing is i can't eat alot of salt at all so i don't add it too cooking!

Thanks for all your guy's help.
