Trying desperately to cut out (multiple!) night time feeds.

LO uses boob to get to sleep, both when napping and at bedtime. Trying (since Friday) to cut out night feeds, keeping one in the morning (initially) and one before bed also.

My thought process is break the cycle of feeding to sleep firstly. So no feeding in the the bedroom and taking her off the boob when she is dozy, explaining we are going to bed, DH or I rock her, sing to her, anything to soothe her off to sleep, then offer her water when she wakes (hourly!) wanting to feed. First few nights were tough, but we seem to be going in wrong direction and it's getting much, much harder. She is getting more hysterical and is missing naps because she doesn't want to go to sleep anyway other than on the boob.

I am reluctant to change what I have been doing now, as after 5 days as it will be super confusing, but I hate seeing her so sad! It's sooooooo tough. Any advice greatly received.

Have you looked at Dr Jay Gordon’s method for night Weaning? It may feel like taking a step backwards but it’s supposed to work Smile
