Vomiting formula

Hi everyone,

I've been weaning my 6.5month old DD both on to solids and on to formula. I pump at work every day but wasn't enough for her and want to stop breastfeeding now anyway so have been giving her a mix of bottle and breast milk together. She is currently on two meals a day, porridge or banana for breakfast around 10ish then a meal when we're home from nursery around 4-4.30pm. She goes to bed at 6 as we're up at 6 in the morning (not UK). Have been giving her a bottle before bed with again the half breastmilk half formula but she's vomited large amounts of this 3 times in the last week in her sleep. She doesn't cry out or anything so don't know until I check on her and find her covered in sick.
I've been trying to adjust the amount she takes before bed so it's no more than 4oz and use a size 1 teat on the bottle. I hold her upright for a few mins after feeding to try and release any wind and have put her bed on a tilt but she's still throwing up. Any ideas what it could be? She has the same mix of formula and breastmilk during the day and keeps it down fine. I don't know what to do as she's never been a sicky baby with the breastfeeding and am worried she's going to choke herslf without me realising! Shock Is it because am giving her solids and milk too close to bed time? Should we try the second meal earlier on?

I try not giving her the second meal for a few days and see how you get on. Weaning isn’t really a linear process, it’s fine to start, stop or cut back and then try again Smile

Thank you. Thats a good point about it not being linear. Nursery fed her this afternoon so meant I didn't feed her this evening. She only took 2oz of milk before bed and refused the other 2oz so will see what time she wakes Confused Will try and leave the second meal or get nursery to do early afternoon and see what happens.

Forgot for a minute that you’re not in the UK. Thought you were putting her to bed a bit early, it’s only 5 past 5 here Grin

Haha yeah it's 9pm here now. She's in bed for 6 though. Can't keep her up any longer!

If she’s getting up at 6am I wouldn’t expect her to stay up after 6pm Smile
