Is my feeding schedule ok?

7 months old ish, doing BLW and attempting to give her food then milk, as advised by HV. HV also advised to try and drop tea time bottle.

So she’ll have breakfast and milk around 7.30, lunch and milk around 12 and then at 4 I’ll give her tea and about 4oz of milk. Then 8oz bottle at 6.30 for bed.

Is this right, or could I be doing it better if the idea is to drop milk feeds eventually? I just feel like I’m not doing well, weaning is so confusing.

She eats ok food wise, getting the hang of it but still really wants milk after (or before) meals and I always give it her, at the time she needs it. Just so overwhelming.

I always give my baby the milk first. My schedule is like this:
7.30- 7oz bottle formula, baby porridge.
10.30-7 oz bottle formula.
1.30-5oz bottle formula.
4.30-7oz bottle formula, dinner( he will usually have half a jar).
7.30-7oz bottle formula.
11.00-7oz bottle formula.
( If I don't give the feed at 11 he wakes at around 2am).

They need around 20oz of milk a day at this age - how much is she having?

My 7 month old (mix fed) has
Milk 6-7am
Breakfast 8am
Yoghurt at 10ish (she was refusing a milk feed here)
Lunch at 12/12.30
Milk at 3ish
Tea at 5pm
Milk at 7
Milk at 10/11pm

HV is well off on that advice sorry, it should be milk then food at this age, building upto giving solids 3 times a day between 8 and 9 months.

I’d try something like this

7 am bottle
8 am breakfast
11am bottle
3pm bottle
4pm tea
6.30pm bottle. When you want to go upto 3 meals a day, you can add lunch at 12 noon.

Don’t worry about her dropping milk feeds yet, it’s still very early days and she’ll let you know when she’s ready to start dropping them anyway.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed but all of this Weaning will soon be a distant memory Smile
