Hi I'm new to mumsnet and I would be grateful if you could answer a silly weaning question. Have just given dd (5.5 months) first spoonfulls of baby rice this morning - am I supposed to warm it up first?

Thanks

I did - but look to see what it says on the pack.

I warmed it as well. Just warm, not hot.

i,m weaning 2dayaswell, i use warm milk to mix it so its sort of warm. hey good luck with all the mess!!!

Thanks everyone
It went OK but I will warm the milk tomorrow as I thought it was a bit cold and the instructions on the pack said check the temperature but not whether or not to warm it or not so a tad confused.
Good luck clutteredup - it was about as messy as I had imagined.

just wait till you move on to orange food its unbelieveable, this time round, no 3 , i'm only feeding the colours of ourkitche, white and green - that'sa reasonably balanced diet isn't it. i don't want to have to wear orange clothes it doesn't suit my complexion.

I warm LOs bottle first then use the warm milk to mix the rice and give it straight to him followed by the rest of the bottle. It only uses up a tiny bit of the warm milk to make the rice.

Good luck!! I have moved onto fruit and veg purees - great fun
