Vomiting after banana and yoghurt - allergy to dairy?

My daughter has eaten banana several times before with no ill affect. I tried her on yoghurt for 2 days and she seemed fine, although a bit of a rash on her face but she often has rashes from dribble/teething. Last night I gave her yoghurt and banana for tea after she refused a firm favourite of butternut squash. She probably only had 3 teasponns. She vomited everywhere at bedtime and was retching for about an hour. She has a rash on her face this morning. She has no temperature so I don't think its a bug.

Could she have a dairy allergy? This is the first bit of dairy I've offered as she has just turned 6 months, I know yoghurt if often less allergenic than milk/cheese so I started off slowly. Should I hold off dairy another month?

I take it you're breast-feeding? Do you eat dairy? If so and she's had no ill effects before I think it's unlikely. Given she refused a favourite previously I think it more likely she's got a slight bug (they won't always have a temp). Wait and see what the nappies are like! But to be sure I would give no dairy for a few days and then try again and see if it's the same. If she does have a bug dairy is not the thing to give as this can make it worse as the tummy struggles to digest it and you're feeding the bug the lactose sugars. Hope she's fine
