I wonder if any of you kind people could lend some advice...

I have a delightful (most of the time) 8 month old who was weaned at 6 months. I also swapped to formula at this point. We are now at a stage of 3 meals. I am also giving formula as per recommendations (food before one is just for fun).

However, a few times now she has vomited after the last feed. I give her dinner at 5/530 bath 630 and bottle 730. I generally reduce the amount according to how much dinner she has but generally about 5/6oz formula.

It's heartbreaking to see her be so sick and empty her stomach. Then I obviously don't feed her and make up for it during the night.

I even keep dinner light to some veg or fruit purée. At breakfast she has porridge and a full bottle (7oz) and is fine. Where am I going wrong?

I'm getting to the point of being scared to feed her.

Just to note she is not overweight (25 percentile)

Any advise greatly received.

Could you give us an outline of what she usually has in a day and when please? Smile

JiltedJohnsJulie · 02/04/2018 07:18

Oh, and you say you’re at stage 3 of Weaning. I’m not sure really what that means. Are yiu following a book?

dc43 · 02/04/2018 07:39

Sorry. Messaged in a slightly distressed state!

RE the stage I meant we had worked up to have 3 meals a day over the last 2 months.

Regarding foods she generally has
7am 2 tbsp ready brek with full fat milk (1pz approx) and 5oz formula an hour after.

Around 10am 4oz formula

1230 lunch - 5tbsp of veg/fruit purée some fish or chicken. and 5oz milk after

3pm sometimes 4oz milk

5pm dinner - 5 tbsp of food - veg/fruit

7pm 6oz bottle.

Obviously food is hit or miss and if she refuses after a few mouthfuls I stop.

Thanks for taking the time to read

It sounds ok to me. Does she wake st 3pm? If not, I’d try giving that bottle a little earlier.

dc43 · 02/04/2018 14:21

Yes. Usually. And I give her some milk then. Thanks again

How is she with finger foods? Just wondering if it’s worth giving her finger foods for her last meal so that sh3 can regulate how much she eats a little better?
