Teaching big self feeding. Nothing will stick?

DC is 11 months and starting to show a desire to be more independent with feeding. I'd like to start encouraging self feeding with a spoon but I can't find a suction bowl/plate that will stick!

We have an Ikea Blames high chair and I think the tray is the same material as the antilop but it's circular rather than square. Alternatively I could remove the tray but my kitchen table is unvarnished wood.

Nothing will stick to either of them. I've tried nuby miracle bowls, the tommee tippee mat, easymat suction mini mat. Has anyone got any solutions or would varnishing my kitchen table mean I could put suction bowls on it?

Just put the food straight on the high chair tray. Wipe it down after.

Just use a normal bowl and don't put much in it to start, adding as bits get eaten/thrown. I had one bowl that stuck on and it was a pita.

You could try one of these. No suction cup but the rubberised underside means they don'y slide around much.

I just put it straight on the tray too! Anything else seems like a waste of time/money. The tray is basically a big plastic plate

These! They do not move. I had one too many times of bowls of soup being launched across the room so I bought these. When stuck on to the highchair you can lift the whole thing up by the bowl (sans baby of course!)

I'll second the unbelievabowls! They're great. I got mine from boots.
