My LO enjoys his food. He’s 7 months, weighs 18lb and is tall (91st percentile).
He is on 4 bottles at 6oz,
Plus 4tbsp at breakfast, 4tbsp dinner plus pudding, 4tbsp tea plus pudding and then a snack in between.
This week he is now having 2-3 big poos a day. He used to do one big poo every other day.
Are we giving him too much food?
All the advice I find is around baby led and we tried it, didn’t quite work so opted for puréed food for a bit longer.

Sorry no advice but will be interested in any replies you get as it's something I'm thinking about with my baby too. So hard to know whether it's enough or not. Feel like mine would just keep eating which can't be good!

My LO is 7m and also 91st percentile, very tall and weights 19lbs so we’re in a similar position.

My LO is having around 20oz per day milk spread across the day, as for food she has porridge for breakfast, lunch of a hot meal, followed by fruit or a dessert. Bits of finger food throughout the day and another meal at night with another small dessert.

I wouldn’t say you’re giving too much food but can you cut down the milk at all?

Poo-wise I think 7m is a big month for weaning so poos will be up and down as you’re going from less puréed food to more chunkier stuff. My LO gets quite constipated as she’s not taking much water with her meals (she acts like it’s poison! She just won’t take it!) but I think things will improve as she gets more used to food and water.

It sounds a lot to me. I think the advice is 2 ice cube size portions per meal and I think each ice cube is probably a tablespoons worth so 4tbsp plus pudding in one meal sounds and awful lot.

Until nearer a year meals are supposed to primarily be about trying new things and getting a good variety rather than calorie intake. Milk is supposed to still provide the necessary nutrition.

My baby rarely has pudding at 11 months, only when I happen to have something nice for her to try like mango sticks or raspberries. I avoid the fruit puree pots as it's just sweet, textureless stuff.
