Gag reflex in baby

Pingu49 · 15/02/2018 11:30

When I give my 7m old "adult food" he just GAGS, goes red and behaves like he's choking. It's scary!

He'll have a couple of mouthfuls of mashed veg then start gagging. He won't eat chicken, he just gags.

The only thing that goes down is baby food jars??

Choking and gagging are different.
It takes time for them to learn to move food in their mouth and swallow.
Keep trying

Gagging is normal though can be scary. It’s important to know the difference between gagging and choking. Watch an infant first aid video or do a course if you are worried.
