Buying weaning equipment?

My baby's still a couple months off from weaning, but looking at all the black Friday/cyber Monday deals I was wondering if it was worth getting a few things now. I don't know what I really need - small bowls, spoons, sippy cup, bibs? We have a bumbo type seat. Anything else?

The IKEA Antilop high chair is great (my daughter is small but loves sitting in it with the inflatable booster seat). I also use plastic cups by Babycup for giving her sips of water - it's small enough for her to hold. So far I've not bothered with a blender, I've just cooked food until soft and then mashed it up with a fork (adding water/milk/olive oil if necessary). But we are only a couple of weeks in.

I’d get a couple of skippy cups and a few long sleeved bibs as it can get messy. Will she be sitting at the table with you? If so, you will need a high chair.

I wouldn’t bother with a blender either. My 2nd was a complete spoon refuser and a blender may end up becoming an expensive ornament.

If you want a book, I’d try this one.

Oh and don’t forget the read the MN Weaning info. It’s very good 🙂
