i'm sure i saw a suggestion for this on here a while ago. at the time dd was really into her readybrek so didn't take much notice - she's now stopped having this - not sure if she's fed up with it or doesn't want the spoon. she has finger foods the rest of the day. will try some weetabix but just wondered if these might be good to try. anyone know how to make them and also any other suggestions for brekkie? thanks

porridge pancake recipe here .

Otherwise cereals you can splosh with milk then leave her to pick up alone - mini shredded wheat, Shreddies, raisin wheats etc - are popular but do read the box for sugar, salt etc.

And toast and all the bready variations (muffins, bagels, pitta etc etc) of course

thanks mrs b - have looked at the recipie on the blog - but we don't have a microwave - would it work if i just used hot milk and left to set overnight do you think?

i like the ideas for the cereals!

oh yes, absolutely - in ye olden dayes it was made by pouring leftover porridge into something shallow to get cold then cutting it up, so just make the porridge however you normally would.

(ie cook it on the hob I mean, don't just pour hot milk onto oats)

don't know - might be worth a bash but be prepared for it not to work

if you buy porridge oats you can make flapjack
