we've only been doing blw v recently - she's now 9mths. whoever it was that raved about cheese sandwiches (?aitch) was right - she loves them! we've also discovered philadelphia. any other ideas for sandwiches gratefully received - she's not on eggs yet and i looked at most cold meats - full of salt. she loves sandwiches - hooray (my mum can't believe it)!

Marmite.
dd2 loves it. She is 8 mths, but has been having it on bread/toast for a couple mths now.
And is very good for them.

banana
tuna mayo

I'd like some ideas too. However have read that marmite is only suitable for over one year old.

Pure fruit spread (from health food shops), cooked chicken blitzed with creme fraiche, anything really blitzed with creme fraiche

Not quite a sandwich, but eggy bread (aka French Toast). Whip up a couple of eggs, dip a slice of bread in, fry gently, perhaps sprinkle some parsley or raisins on top, and serve, cut up in squares. Babies/toddlers love it, it's very good for them, and it makes no mess.

Yes, and tuna mayo!! My ds is now 2.5, and is falling out of love with too much bread, so I just give him a dollop of tuna/mayo in a bowl with a spoon. I can't believe how much of it he eats because Dang, it's filling stuff!

grated carrot and cream cheese

banana and avocado mashed up together

grated cheddar and a smidge of marmite

bit of diced up chicken breast with chopped apricots and a tiny bit of mayo and grated cheese to make it all stick together

grated cheese and grated apple

hummus is always a winner in our house, with breadsticks, in sandwiches, on bagels and crumpets.

depending on your stance re: peanuts, how about smooth peanut butter. (considered ok from 6 months if no family history of allergies)

great ideas - thanks everyone
