ds had a d&v bug about 7 weeks ago and since then hasn't been able to tollerate cows milk (yoghurt, cheese anything like that) made him sick to start with and his nappies were gross and never got better so i took him off cows milk and wheat (dh has allergy to that) but he still has formula and i'm not too worried about products (like rusks) with some milk powder in for example

He has got better but he has just started crawling and always seems starving hungry, he now wakes up about 5am to feed and yesterday morning had 15oz of formula before he calmed down and fell asleep (he is always tired if i get him up at this time)

For the next two weeks I'm reintroducing wheat and then after that cows milk (altho prob goats to start) but until then does anyone have any advice for high energy (and prob high fat) snacks and food? I'm lucky he'll eat anything I make I just don't know what to prepare!!

sorry for the long post I'm sure I haven't given all the details so if clarifying helps advice just let me know

Mashed avocado is fab, also banana.

Sorry didn't spot the first line of Mrsbadger's post.

thanks, i've been doing banana, rice pasta, tinned fish and all veg suggested in other posts - think i just need to do more - had 3pm snack of banana on toast which i hope has helped for tonight! avocado was on dh's shopping list so i think i'm on the right track

coconut milk is a good one - do you think i could make rice pudding with it? ds was having fair bit of rice pudding before he was ill

cheers for replies - if anyone has some good receipes let me know as love cooking

coconut rice pudding sounds lovely - dairy-free recipe here could be worth a try...

He needs protein-rich as well as high fat. Can he eat eggs? My toddler lived on scrambled eggs after D & V bug. what about small amounts of chicken, meat or fish?

gotta be quick as off out ... tried eggs after ds was first ill and good god the nappies were hideous! haven't be brave enough since!

made coconut rice pudding today - it tasted delicious
