blw - chicken?

have fallen into blw as dd refuses to be fed. she's now 9 mths (still no teeth!) and enjoys bananas, pears, figs (most fruits) and some veggies as sticks. just started dairy this week and will try wheat v soon. thought about trying her with some chicken - she's had it before as "mush" but just wondered what the best way was to cook for her to feed it to herself. any other ideas for protein also gratefully received! (she doesn't like cheese yet...)

roast it and tear off pieces to hand to her. Or cut into strips and stir fry?

just cook it the way you like it. if you're having a roast chicken, give her a slice off the breast or pull some meat of the leg for her. she'll probably do best with a big piece to start off with. though, at 9 months she'll probably manage fine with small pieces too.

fish is a good one to try. baked salmon is simple.

quorn and tofu are good for children - great texture! Lentils are another good source of protein ...

you should avoid soya though.

lentils? do you just put a pile in front of them to pick up???

thanks by the way

mine go quite solid when they have absorbed all the water - DS picks them up and smushes them into his mouth - he also eats spag bol with his hands - yes it is a bit messy but soooo sweet!

I'm not doing BLW but my 8 mth old is fine picking up and eating strips of chicken. in fact, the only thing he's still struggling with is peas!! he'll get there
