Nine month old screaming when eating

My DS has been a great eater ever since he started solids. I've been really lucky in that. In the past couple of days he's started screaming when ever he eats however. It's totally not like him. Ever being breast fed just got the same reaction. What on earth could this be?

Have you checked inside his mouth for any injuries? Could he have had something too hot which has left his mouth feeling sore?

My son did this at 7.5mo, it was his teeth. I put a tiny bit of gel in just before and that helped
