Basically I am flicking through my recipe book ready to do the old tesco online shop (such a lazy cow i know!) and there's a few things I want to make but tomato irritates my dd's skin on her face.

I have seen garlic puree like tomato puree can you get any others? I really liked the look of making some mini pitta pizzas but i am lazy so wondered if you could buy any other tubes of puree i could swap tomato with?

any other suggestions welcome!

Tah muchly

Yes, if it comes off the tree in a freshly pureed tube/tin then it is fine.

Thanks fs. Didn't really have rules either. So, in the wild, babies don't like to mix their food together? Still don't get the benefits.

Flamesparrow · 27/03/2007 22:53

No... babies in the wild stick with wolf milk.

how about ginger puree, that comes in jars and you don't have to cook it. Or lemongrass. Or corinader.

Kelly... puree only acceptable if it comes from ginger puree tree etc....

TooTicky · 28/03/2007 09:31

I'm slightly worried about the pureed tubes/tins. Is this for added iron? Except it would be aluminium, wouldn't it, and that's not good...

God not been on for days and looks like someone may have been getting a little excited at having a blw bash at me! PMSL! I know it's COOKING! but I don't have room... i have a small freezer and i am lazy hence why i did blw and I wanted an alternative in many ways as my daugher is allergic to tomato... I make sauces for certain meals but didn't see the point in making a puree for what is supposed to be a quick and easy meal hence the alternative i was looking for.

so thanks for the Nomato suggestion can i get them in tesco or do i have to go somewhere special for it?

Thanks spring bunny will have a look for those too.

Boco, sauces are allowed my dd eats loads, spag bol was a fave until i discovered the tomato issue. She loves macaroni cheese too. The idea is to give babies proper food and let them feed themselves. If you are interested in more have a look at my diary

GGG - my dd also used to get a rash from eating tomato, but the paed we saw (about milk intolerance, but I mentioned this whilst we were there) said to give it to her occasionally anyway. We did this, and she doesn't often get the rash from it now (at nearly 14 months).

(BTW - you can give carrot & swede mash when doing blw)

GingGangGooley · 31/03/2007 12:09

Thanks for the link!

and CSWS that's interesting they said that. My DD loves mash! I add spinach to ours and it goes green! I call it bogey mash! haha
