'DD just picks spinach up by the fistful and jams it into her mouth.'

very gradually over about 5 weeks. at first he would only pick things up very occasionally and if they were very high up and easy for him to grasp like a yorkshire pudding or if i put things in a big pile for him. now he can pick things up easily and is picking them up all the time but he just waves it about or drops it - never in his mouth. he's 9 months on the 24th btw.

puffling? there's a photo on my blog of her doing it if you don't believe me. do a search for spinach...

an oh lord, nappyaddict, that sounds frustrating. (and not what you need, given what i've just read on the other thread...).

if you have a look at the FAQ on the blog then you'll see that a lot of the mums on the Yahoo group found that their babies really didn't get the hang of eating til they were one. now, you know what you could do to 'get' him to eat... many an HV would tell you that you could cut beck on his milk... but that's so old-fashioned i personally think so long as the baby's fine and you can stick it out then you should. the old 'until they're one it's just for fun' and all that...

i do understand that things are stressful for you right now... i hope this isn't making things any worse for you.

no, tbh i just give ds his milk as he cries for it then i give him food when we have it, which probably means he isn't always that hungry.
