getting off the bottle

my DD is 11 months and is has her quota of milk from a bottle. I have kind of forgotten that she is supposed to have milk from a beaker/cup. She takes water fairly well from the beaker so I don't envisage any problems (ha ha bet she has other plans) but I'm just a bit confused about sterilising and making up formula in a beaker. And how to make the jump to cows milk when she is one. Any hints??

well, in a month she can have cows milk, and you don;t really need to sterilise now, i take it she is crawling, and shoving everything in her mouth? a good wash of bottles and beakers in hot soapy water or dishwasher is fine at this stage.....if you give formula in a beaker, it is one scoop of powder to each fluid ounce of water.. you could measure in a bottle and pour into a beaker...

Makes sense. I'm not paranoid about germs, she had her first munch of outside gravel yesterday (too fast at the crawling)but somehow I can't get past sterilising her bottles.

well, if she is eating gravel, then it is time to put the steriliser away ! as long as the bottles are washed in hot soapy water, there should not be a problem

I would stick with the bottle until she is 12 months and just make the switch to cows milk in a beaker )

Thanks for the tips!
