My DS is 6 months tomorrow and has been on purees now for almost 4 weeks, he seems to love them and is having breakfast and lunch. However I have now just heard of blw and think it sounds great. he is very good at putting things into his mouth and loves to play/eat his bowl and spoon after his puree is finished. he is also still bf on demand. can i just stop the purees and switch to blw?

Yes, of course, but I think by this point it'd just be called 'finger food' as you've weaned him already!

Yes, you can switch, but don't get stressed when you find that he is eating less than he was on purees.

We didn't switch until about 7 months, when dd decided that she didn't want to be spoon fed again, ever.

true, csws, lots of babies decide to just do finger food only, and where the BLW ethos is helpful in that regard is that it gives you a free pass over worrying about how uch they're eating as long as they're getting enough milk.
