ds is 7 months now and we have been blw-ing for a month. My favourite bread is a barley and sunflower seed one and I was just wondering if it's OK to give bread with seeds in at this age. So far he has only had toasted white.

I give granary, so am not anti-seed at all, but I think I'd steer clear of it if it has whole sunflower seeds on it, unless you can brush them off the top.

Please don't give your baby seeded bread. My friend's 15mth old had to be blue-lighted to hospital when a seed became lodged in his throat. Apparently, if a seed gets stuck in the throat it swells up with saliva, gradually blocking up the passage. Thank goodness the little one was alright but what a fright they had.

Wow thanks - glad I asked!
