DD was weaning well on 3 small spoon feeds until 3 weeks ago when completely refused spoon feeds....although still shows loads of interest in what we're eating! DD is teething big time but no sign of any little white ones yet! I'm getting a little worried now though as I've tried all her usual yummy things but DD just refuses to open her mouth...and I don't want to force her. ANyone else experienced this? if so what did you do? any suggestions graetly appreciate.....I'm a first time mum in case you couldn't tell!

Hi please don't worry my DS was the same he cut four teeth at 6mnths. It is really slow going, does she want to chew everything if so try biccipegs to help the tooth move through the gum also try calgel on the gums before food if you can get your finger in her mouth!! I found with DS that he would eat yoghurt out in cafes where he could people watch. He is 9mnths now and eats almost everything apart from toast. Good Luck, it does get better

I think the same thing is happening now with my 7.5 month old. I started weaning at 6 months, and he was doing really well, eating three spoon fed meals a day, including meat and lumpy mashed up family foods. However, for the last couple of weeks he's been clamping his mouth shut, turning away and screaming if I try to get a spoon anywhere near his mouth. No sign of any teeth yet, but he's been waking up crying at night again, so not sure if its hunger or his gums hurting.

Mandmand my dd is exactly the same at the mo. Today she has had 9oz milk thats it, blatantly refusing food. Has also had random screaming episodes in the night. Has refused food so know its not hunger, must be teeth as a bit of Calpol settled her.

tbh my BLWed DD is the same, so it's not just spoons. the poor wee thing is in agony at the moment and only wants milk. i can understand it, to be fair.

Hi Mandmand sounds like our Los are both really sore at the mo with their teeth....wish they'd hurry up and start coming in...but still no sign yet! Are you still offering your LO spoon feeds 3 times a day even though he's refusing them? I keep on offering them but she just doesn't want them. Should I stop offering altogether or keep offering in the hope she'll change her mind?
