yes it's fab

DD2 was the same takes them a while to get peas but they do eventually HV asked me about DD2's manual dexerity at her 8 month check and I said she was picking up peas she didn't believe me

pucca · 23/02/2007 22:47

Always wanted to ask this

Do LO's not choke more when BLW? don't get it really, i have a ds 6 months and he chokes on puree sometimes lol.

Frizbe · 23/02/2007 22:49

Only thing dd2 has choked on was apple, she's nearly 1 now, but that's the only thing that's scuppered her and she scoffs parsnips, carrots, peas, sultanas and well just about everything bar the kitchen sink, which I'm sure she'd had a go at if you gave her chance

pucca · 23/02/2007 22:50

I would love to try it, but scared of the choking aspect...dumb i know!

Yeah i mean gagging, not literally choking

Frizbe · 23/02/2007 22:55

I'll just add that dd2 still has no teeth either at nearly 1, so is doing damn well with those gummy gums

lori21 · 24/02/2007 11:17

The gagging thing is really a leap of faith. You have to believe that it is a natural reaction. My lo will gag on a piece of fruit, spit it out, then pick it up and eat it! My mum and dh have heart failure but as I am the one who is usually with him I am used to it. He has never chocked BTW.

Frizbe - good to hear your lo has no teeth yet. All the lo I know of the same age as mine have loads and my lo has none. I know he is only 7 1/2 months so has plenty of time.

well after being so proud of him picking up and eating spghetti he decided to pick up each strand individually before dropping them on the floor and watching as they landed. hours of fun.

My LO hardly gags when controlling her own food but did so with almost every spoonful when i was trying to spoon feed her. Ther only time she has ever seriously choked was when being spoon fed too
