Hi Dizzy quick question - DD is nearly 24 weeks so am hoping to start BLW in next couple of weeks - she is drooling watching me eat and does chewing motion...however, she doesn't really put anything up to her mouth...you know toys etc...and doesn't really play/handle much (unless it's hanging above her then she'll play/bash away to her hearts content) anyhoo, my concern is that she won't pick the food up and put it to her mouth....any suggestions?

TIA Dizzy

with blw the idea is that they will be able to pick up the food, hold it, put it in their mouth and chew and swallow it when their body is physically able to handle the food. so all you have to do is keep putting the food infront of her, and keep giving her milk as normal. easy peasy!

at first she might only pick it up, or might put it in her mouth, drop it again, etc. it might take a while for her to work it out. but that's ok, you're not trying to fill her up with food, you're just introducing her to what food is. milk is still her main food.

slowly but surely she'll just pick it up. some are slower than others, some are quicker than others.

good luck!

That's what I thought dizzy, I know they are geting all the calories/goodness from milk still but it helps to get a second (experienced) opinion
