Is Making A Semi Homemade Pizza OK?

DS is 10 months, and we are rotating the same foods alot... I don't think I can make pizza from scratch, I just don't have much time, but is buying a base, healthy puree and healthy toppings OK? Or is that still quite bad for him?

Many Thanks! xXx

oh that is fine imo!
i make them using split wholemeal muffins - at least that way is better than just the white pizza bases.

ahhh, great idea! Would that be ok? Not too soft?

toast it first
add the tomato sauce and cheese - grill it til cheese starts to go gooey, then add the toppings to the cheese so they "sink" onto the cheese, and grill again for a couple of mins.
Depending on the toppings you may have to dry-fry them for a few mins to soften them.

Excellent, that sounds alot better. Is the puree ok?

I make home made pizza but I tend to cheat a little!!!

I use puff pastry base (packet of saxbys from supermarket) I do make my own sauce -half tin of tomatoes, olive oil, mixed herbs, garlic cube -frozen thing. I then always have in frozen diced onion and peppers, frozen peas and sweetcorn so my 3.8yr old helps to sprinkle everything and grated cheese over the top.

Into oven 190 for around 20 minutes - I use a whole packet of pastry as it feeds all of 4 of us, me, DH, 3.8 yr old and 9 month old.

The packet pizza dough mixes are pretty good if you have little bit of time - just add water and roll out. The only thing to check is the salt (ime pastry is worse for this than bready things)
We make huge batches of tomato sauce for pizza when we do have the time and freeze it in batches.
