I WEANED MY DAUGHTER AT 14 WKS 4 YRS AGO AND NOW HAVE A 13 WEEK OLD SON SO HAVE JUST BEEN RESERACHING THE WHOLE MESSY ISSUE - ANYWAY IM INTERESTED IN THIS BLW LARK AND AS A RESULT MAY NOT BE IN SO MUCH OF A RUSH TO GET STARTED THOUGH I DO HAVE A QUESTION... MY DAUGHTER WAS WEANED IN THE TRADITIONAL PUREE SPOON FEEDING WAY WITH FINGER FOODS THROWN IN AT 6 MONTHS FOR SNACK ETC.., I WAS MOST PROUD WHEN AT 1 SHE COULD SHOVEL IN HER OWN FOOD RATHER NEATLY (ISH) WITH A SPOON. WITH BLW DOES THIS EVER HAPPEN OR DO THEY EAT LIKE ANIMALS FOR A LONNNNNNNNG TIME... BE GENTLE WITH ME AS IT IS MY FIRST TIME AND IT TOOK ME ABOUT AN HR JUST TO REGISTER!

my BLWd dd can spoon her own food into her mouth pretty neatly and has been able to do so for a few months, so long as i load up the spoon first. she's now getting to grips with a fork, stabbing her way through bits of french toast and eating them.

having said that, i imagine it's horses for courses... and boys are made from frogs and snails and puppy dogs' tails, so you might find he's less fastidious than you daughter. or more fastidious, i'm sure it'll just depend on his personality. good luck if you decide to do blw, it's a laugh.
