Whole Milk - 14 months old

I've just started my DS on full goat's milk, he was 14 months old yesterday. I gave him a formula bottle at night but am hoping to drop this asap to be replaced with the whole milk too. How much whole milk should i be giving my DS in a day?

Also, he will drink from a cup from time to time but it's quite messy - this is stage number two - will persevere but not just yet. I am expecting baby number two next week and am wondering if it is worth waiting before i try weaning him from a bottle completely. The reason i say this is because of stories i've heard of the toddler reverting to bottle on seeing baby feed. Any suggestions pls?

Not sure about the quantity question, but with regard to the bottle/cup issue, if you are about to have another baby, I'd not put pressure on yourself or DS to accomplish any major goals just yet. So long as he's happy at what will be an unsettled time for both of you, that would be the main thing for me.

HV reckons about a pint of whole milk a day will be plenty - not just bottles if he won't take all that (we give our DS 3 x 7oz bottles a day) - you can supplement with yoghurts, cheese etc.
He will happily drink juice from a beaker, but prefers his milk in a bottle cos it means he gets to have a lovely mummy cuddle at the same time.

My Ds is 15 months and he was having 3 8oz bottles a day and the HV said this was FAR too much and i should reduce him to 2 8oz at the very most. Then proceeded to tell me that he is overweight sorry thats a whole other thread!!

Know what you mean about the juice/beaker milk/bottle thinf Iklboo - i love it though as its my cuddle time too!

Oh yes - I love that cuddle time - when he relaxes into me and strokes my face while he's having his bottle and I whisper & sing to him. Makes all the crap of the day fade away

Thank you and very true about unsettled time - fee we've achieved something at the moment just getting off the formula. Cheers.
