Peeling and cooking cucumber and pepper???

Hi,

My son is just 7 months and doing really well with weaning he is having purées and lots of soft finger food like peach, cooked apple slices, banana, roast sweet potatoes, buttered toast etc. I'm going to make some hummus tomorrow and was wanting to serve it with peppers and cucumbers to dip. Silly question but would you cook and peel them first? Or any other ideas for finger food to go with hummus? Many thanks.

No, I wouldn't cook cucumber (I don't think I ever have)! I wouldn't even peel it tbh. Just cut it into long wedges that are easy to hold. I gave my DS cucumber from 6 months like that.

Nope, I would and did just give raw cucumber. Keep skin on, it's where all the vitamins are and makes it less slippery to hold. I did slightly steam carrot sticks but only a little

Great, thanks both.
