Weaning

Weaning probs!

LO is 6m old and is on 3 small meals a day. She is a bit fussy - loves fruit puree but I struggle to get veg into her and hates cereal. She goes to nursery 3 days a week and basically refuses all milk (including ebm) and only eats a bit of food plus fruit puree.

I think she is on a bit of a food strike in protest at going to nursery so am just waiting to see with that one.

I am upset she won't take formula or cereal though - I am worried about iron deficiency as we don't eat meat and was going to supplement her with lots of green veg and fortified cereal. How can I get her to vary her diet? She's been on 3 meals a day for around 2 weeks. (Started weaning at 5 m)

Any ideas for a fussy baby!

your baby will get used to the concept of nursery and start to eat/drink there. she isn't on strike as that is an adult concept. just out of her element and will start eating there when she susses out what is going on.

dd wasn't on 3 meals a day till she was well over a year old and it wasn't anything like a varied diet either.

the only idea for a fussy baby is not to stress yourself out. offer what you are normally offering and ride it out. your child will not starve herself.
