Breast feeding replaced with soya milk

My 11 month old is basically weaning himself off the breast (we are down to 1-2 feeds a day). He is very reluctant to drink anything else and I need to give him something with calcium in but he is also allergic to dairy! Can I give him soya milk now? Any thoughts?

I would encourage him to keep breastfeeding - quiet room, chilled out time of day etc.

I have a dairy allergic babe who is coming off the breast.

My dietician advised me to use fortified rice, oat or soy milk in cooking but to get soy or hydrolysed formula for drinking.

We're going to try rice milk in her porridge and try and keep the evening breastfeed for now.

I give DS1 rice milk with added calcium. He tolerates goats milk from time to time, usually best if he has it first thing in the morning and boiled (for porridge). What about expressing milk to feed him? DS1 is no longer bf, but I recently expressed milk when DS2 wasn't feeding much, and gave it to DS1. He loved it!

We also tried nutramigen formula. It was foul. So bad that even made up into a dairy free cheese sauce & mixed with mashed potato, it was still obviously horrible.

my ds2 isbf but on pepti junior mixed in with his foods, he wont drink it and i dont blame him really it smells horrible. i have to express for nursery. in fact i seem to spend all my free time expressing.
