i think the thing is, whether fat or thin chips, if you're holding them for him then he can't really control it.

however..i did fat at first, now she just has whatever shape, she can pick up teeny things like rice crispies so it isn't really an issue anymore. the chip thing is only really in the very early days as they learn to hold things.

have you looked at the pics on the site? a lot of the babies seem to be holding onto quite big things, i think. dizzy's right, though, you either have to let go and trust him or just wait a week and see if he starts making a swipe for your food. a week is a long time if you've only been alive for 26 of them...

My DS has fat chunks of things. He especially likes cucumber, cheese, pitta, toast, chicken, parsnip, carrot and apple. I leave the skin on cucumber and apple.

I might try banana and celery today

Do you know, aitch, I woke up this morning thinking 'A week's a long time if you've only been alive for 26 of them' and could not think where I'd heard it...

Have now squirreled it away so I can pass it off as Spontaneous Badger Wisdom at a later date - thanks!
