Daily Feeding routine

Hello all, is it possible to hear what other moms feeding routines are, as i am getting rather confused with how much my dd should be eating, she is 28 and a half weeks old. My feeding routine is:

7.30-8 6OZ bottle

9.30-10.30 Fruit plus rice or couscous

12-1 6OZ bottle

4ish 6-7OZ bottle

6ish Veg, meat and rice/couscous or pasta

7.30ish 7 OZ bottle

then bed.

Now she doesnt always take all the milk feeds, and i am not sure if i should put her on a third solid feed, but when??
Any advice greatly appreciated...

I don't remember quite well but I think DS was having 3 meals a day at that age.

This is what i was worried about, as she is really keen for her solids, but am not sure where i am supposed to fit it in and also have been told repeatedly that milk is still the most vital thing.
As first time mom i am trying to listen to other people than to just do it :-/

I gave my dd a solid feed at about lunchtime.
She got: early milk feed, solid breakfast, mid morning milk feed, solid lunch, mid afternoon milk feed, solid dinner and milk supper/bedtime feed
Hope that helps

See i thought of doing that, but my dd doesnt usually wake up until 7.30 (earliest) i know i am happy she sleeps late but it doesnt help with the feeding

I think you are doing fine, knowing how much food they should be having is an ever changing territory.

I found the weaning book by an author that could not be mentioned very helpful, although as the weaning starting age has changed since it was written, it may not be up to date.

Ok i shall try and see if i can get one for Xmas!

Have a look in your local library for books on weaning.
Sounds as if you are doing all the right things, you just need to work out a schedule that you and baby are happy with.
Mealtimes are as flexible as you need them to be.
Good luck

DS is 6.5 months. He has:

Wake: Breakfast (porridge and fruit) followed by 9oz milk

11am: snack 3oz milk

12.30: lunch - he has mostly anything pasta/meat/veggies etc plus some finger food if at home, followed by fruit/rice

2pm: 8oz milk

5.30: dinner - same as lunch but fromage frais/yoghurt instead of fruit and no finger foods

6.00: 16oz milk (!!!!)

He's a very big baby - about 24lb now (not fat just hugely long!) so he eats/drinks loads but the timings work well for us and I don't feel like he's having milk/food every five minutes which seemed to happen when I was first weaning.

OK i have completely changed her routine,

here goes:

7.30 - 8 5 oz bottle

8.30 - 9 Breakfast (Fruit plus carbs)

10.30 - 11 6 oz bottle

12 - 1 Lunch (Veg, meat & Carbs)

2.30 - 3 7 oz bottle

5.30 - 6 Dinner (Veg, meat & Carbs)

7.00 Bath

7.30 Last bottle 7 oz.

Once again she doesnt always take the milk. But she seems to cope well with this routine!

DS is 6.5 months and his routine is

6-7 bottle
8 breakfast
10 bottle
12 lunch
2 bottle
4-5 tea
6-7 bedtime bottle

i'm making up 8oz bottles. seems he's fed every 2 hours!
