I have a Cow and Gate 'Friends' Broccoli pouch in front of me and the ingredients listed are just broccoli and water. How come it doesn't go out of date earlier if there are no preservatives etc in it? Is it something to do with how it's packaged in the pouch?

TIA

I'm always a bit Hmm when I see the best before date on pouch/jar food....but it was the same when I was in the army with ration packs. I once got a pack with a bbd of April 2018....that was in 2012 Confused must be something to do with how it's treated before its packaged, and the airtight packaging??
