Hi we were advised by the paediatrician to wean our ds at 5 months now he is six months I want to move him onto blw.
I have given him a bit of grated cheese and a brocoli floret. He managed well but I am terrified of him choking on what I am giving him. I have done baby first aid class so know what to do in the event but still I would rather avoid it obviously.
How are you giving the food in strips chunks etc?
And what foods did you give?
Thanks

I just gave them whatever we were having!

Did you cut it in any way ?

Fingers of cheese, boiled egg, omelette, carrott, potato, sweet potato, banana, toast, chicken, sandwiches, are all good. But yes, what we ate is more like it after the first few days.
There is a big difference between gagging and choking. Most will gag at some point. If they are spluttering and making noise, they are sorting it out, and you need to sit on your hands. Choking is usually silent, and that's when your first aid needs to come in.

No cutting in a special way, no. Just dished up and let them explore.
